Menu design for The Verdin Arms, a traditional pub in Northwich, focused on improving clarity, readability, and presentation across food and drink offerings while maintaining the character and warmth of the venue.
The Problem
The existing menus lacked clear structure, making them difficult to navigate. Key items and sections were easy to miss, and the overall layout didn’t reflect the quality of the food or the atmosphere of the pub. The menus also needed to work well in print, handling frequent updates without compromising consistency.
The Solution
I redesigned the menus with a clear typographic hierarchy and a structured layout that guides customers naturally through the offerings. Careful attention was given to spacing, alignment, and readability, ensuring the menus were easy to scan in a low-light pub environment. The final designs balanced practicality with a clean aesthetic that suited the pub’s identity.
